RETRIEVE
Ultrasound-guided oocyte retrieval
Perform an ultrasound-guided oocyte retrieval, from patient preparation to post-procedure monitoring.
Positioning the patient, ultrasound localisation, puncturing follicle by follicle, checking that the follicles are empty, then monitoring after the procedure: you learn how an ultrasound-guided oocyte retrieval is conducted from end to end, not only the moment of the needle.
The procedure itself is short; what surrounds it is not. Checking identity and consent, coordinating with the anaesthetist and preparing the patient for the procedure, coordinating with the laboratory that receives the fluids, recognising and managing complications — bleeding, unusual pain, hyperstimulation declaring itself after the retrieval.
The online module is held live on Zoom, on real anonymised records. The hands-on part takes place in Abidjan, as an individual module, within the Masterclass.

You are on the clinical side. And in the laboratory?
What you aspirate goes straight to the laboratory, where the oocytes are searched for in the follicular fluid, identified and then denuded. That is the Clinical Embryology pathway.
