Implantation failure: reasoning and work-up

Build an implantation-failure work-up, and know what to expect from it.

Online

An embryo of good quality transferred, and nothing comes of it — twice, three times. Repeated implantation failure is the point where the reasoning has to move up a level: you learn to take the question back in order — the cavity, the endometrium, the embryo, the patient’s general condition — rather than adding one more test at each attempt.

The immunological work-up is treated for what it is: one lead among others, useful on selected records and of no help on the rest. The module says what it costs, what it brings, and above all what it does not say — a normal work-up rules nothing out, and a disturbed one does not explain everything.

Sessions are held live on Zoom, on real anonymised records: what had been done at the previous attempts, what was looked for next, and what came of it.

Online module: clinical reasoning on anonymised records

This module has no hands-on part in Abidjan. The work is on the decision: what is in front of you, what you conclude from it, and what you do next.

74% clinical pregnancy rate after immunological work-up in patients with implantation failure (n=132). Internal, non-standardised data — not a guarantee of results.
