FOLLOW UP
Post-transfer & early pregnancy after ART
Follow up to an ongoing pregnancy, together with the IVF centre.
Luteal phase support, the first βhCG measurement and how to read its kinetics, the first scan, location and viability of the pregnancy: you learn to conduct the weeks that follow the transfer through to an ongoing pregnancy.
This follow-up most often takes place far from the centre that carried out the transfer. The module therefore covers what is passed on, to whom, and at what point a patient has to be referred back to the centre without delay: pregnancy of unknown location, bleeding, pain, kinetics that fail to progress.
Announcing a failure is part of the follow-up, and it is prepared like everything else: what is said, what is written in the record, and what is offered next. Sessions are held live on Zoom, on real anonymised records.
Online module
Live Zoom sessions, on real anonymised records. You see the measurements, the decision taken, and what it led to.
Online module: clinical reasoning on anonymised records
This module has no hands-on part in Abidjan. The work is on the decision: what is in front of you, what you conclude from it, and what you do next.
